Hello, My name is Dmitriy and I am here to share what I can make out using photoshop, a computer game, and history of WWII aviation. Many people enjoy computer games, and a good many also enjoy very challenging things when they look for a game. I personally enjoy a good challenge and I'm a big fan of historical accuracy. A neat little game I play (which is more considered a flight simulator) which i personally consider to be very good. The detail is amazing, and attention to physics is also pretty great. Its centered around (you guessed it) World War II and you get to fly aircraft of that period in combat. Many details of actual flight is modeled and you get to fly and have it feel real, with the situational awareness feeling just as real. In any case lets not talk about that, for I am not here to advertise. But where I am leading to is something else that I found myself doing with this game rather than just playing it.
Now I haven't made this video. But it shows the game that I'm talking about. But what I DO enjoy doing, is using photoshop to create some great screenshot art. Overtime I have progressed and become somewhat skilled in making these. The first picture you saw at the top of the man ejecting was done by me. Of course NO computer game would look like that. Doing the above picture took me 20 to 30 minutes to do. I took an in-game screenshot, cut the plane and person out of it and pasted it onto a real photograph, added the fire/smoke and the bailout. Seems simple doesn't it? But its a LOT harder to make it blend like this. Here is another:
Does the city in this picture look familiar? This is an aerial photo of Pahrump with my super-imposed art blended into it. Doing the effects to this took quite some time, yet I enjoy doing these sort of things. I have been doing these things for quite some time, and I keep a large gallery of what I've done. I've got many more to share for anyone who's interested. I can show a few more on this blog!

I've been doing this with games (especially this one) for quite a while now, and over the years I've progressed. This game that I play is almost 8 years old now, but it still tops No.1 in its class! Making these probably seems easy, but it is certainly not as easy as it looks. And I'm certainly not going to post my older ones on here! :P If you're interested in seeing my entire gallery (I keep at a certain site) you can ask me for the link and I'll post it up for you folks! Here's some more for you, folks! Cheers!!

Dimitri?! you do IL-2?! i need some help with my copy. you know how to get me...
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! I love the artwork! Do you play console air combat games, or just PC? What do you think about the upcoming Clancy HAWKZ?
ReplyDeleteTo Mr. LaCombe:
ReplyDeleteI only play PC flight simulators because I don't think it is considered a "flight simulator" anymore once its on a console. How do you expect to use all the advanced commands and toggles in your cockpit with just your console? When you have the whole keyboard and joystick, its a different process. And personally I have not found anything better than this game in terms of realism and physics.
To William:
~ Talk to me at school for more details. Its hard to settle these things via online comments. Much easier in person.
HAWKS looks pretty fun to play. But its soo unrealistic. But thats what makes it a video game and fun! Love your pictures dude
ReplyDeleteUr blog is awesome. I love the title and i love all of the pictures. I think the reason that i really like urs and the only reason that i even went on urs is because of the planes and because urs has to do with war. Awesome blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
